Après une dizaine d'années passées au service du mensuel Studio, Thierry Klifa avait pris son envol en 2004 avec la réalisation d'Une Vie à t'attendre, film sentimental qui mettait Nathalie Baye et Patrick Bruel en vedette. Le revoici pour les fêtes de Noël avec Le Héros de la famille, un film choral au casting impressionnant.
Le Héros de la famille, c'est l'histoire d'une famille éclatée, dont les membres dispersés et parfois fâchés vont se retrouver à l'occasion du partage d'un héritage autour du cabaret Le Perroquet Bleu. Passage en revue.
Il y a d'abord Nicky (Gérard Lanvin), magicien à la gloire passée qui continue à se produire au Perroquet Bleu en rêvant à un retour sur le devant de la scène. Nicky a été marié à Alice (Catherine Deneuve), qui a elle définitivement rompu avec son passé. Il ont eu ensemble un fils, Nino (Michael Cohen), qui a pris ses distances avec son père. Mais pas avec Gabriel (Claude Brasseur), le patron de la boîte, ancien travesti qui va provoquer les retrouvailles de la famille.
Car dans cette famille, il y a aussi Marianne (Géraldine Pailhas), qui veut rompre définitivement avec ce monde de paillettes. Son mari (Gilles Lellouche) la soutient mais se sent un peu perdu au milieu de ces événements familiaux. Marianne est la fille que Nicky a eu avec Simone (Miou-Miou), son amie d'enfance et ancienne partenaire sur scène.
Autour d'eux évoluent des électrons libres plus ou moins paumés. Parmi eux, Léa (Emmanuelle Béart), chanteuse qui vient d'être engagée au Perroquet Bleu pour un récital. Un Perroquet Bleu qui abrite également Pamela (Valérie Lemercier), ancienne danseuse du Crazy Horse meneuse de revue du cabaret, ou encore Raphaël (Pierre Perrier), le jeune barman à la beauté d'ange qui use de son charme sur ses clients. Il y a aussi Colette (Claire Maurier), la dame du vestiaire, qui a bâtit toute sa vie au Perroquet Bleu.
On retrouve également Fabrice (Pierrick Lilliu), le petit ami de Nino qui s'apprête à enfin faire la connaissance des parents de son amant.
Pour les besoins du film, Géraldine Pailhas, Catherine Deneuve et Emmanuelle Béart ont enregistré des chansons que l'on entend dans le film.

After ten years spent to the service of the monthly magazine Studio, Thierry Klifa had taken his take-off in 2004 with the realization ofa Life to await you, sentimental film which put Nathalie Baye and Patrick Bruel in the high-speed motorboat. The revoici for the festivals of Christmas with the Hero of the family, a film choral with the impressive casting.
The Hero of the family, it is the history of a burst family, whose dispersed and sometimes annoyed members will find at the time of the division of a heritage around the cabaret the Blue Parrot. Passage in review.
There is initially Nicky (Gerard Lanvin), magician with the last glory which continues to occur with the Blue Parrot while dreaming with a return on the front of the scene. Nicky was married in Alice (Catherine Deneuve), who it definitively broke with her past. It had together a son, Nino (Michael Cohen), which took its distances with his/her father. But not with Gabriel (Claude Brasseur), the owner of the box, former transvestite who will cause the meeting again of the family.
Because in this family, there is also Marianne (Geraldine Pailhas), which wants to break definitively with this world of spangles. Her husband (Gilles Lellouche) supports it but smells himself a little lost in the medium of these family events. Marianne is the girl that Nicky had with Simone (Miou-Miou), his/her friend of childhood and former partner on scene.
Around them evolve/move of the more or less lost free electrons. Among them, Lea (Emmanuelle Béart), singer who has just been committed to the Blue Parrot for a recital. A Blue Parrot which also shelters Pamela (Valerie Lemercier), former driving dancer of Crazy Horse of review of the cabaret, or Raphaël (Pierre Perrier), the young barman with the beauty of angel which uses of its charm on its customers. There is also Colette (Claire Maurier), the injury of the cloakroom, which A builds all its life with the Blue Parrot.
One also finds Fabrice (Pierrick Lilliu), the boy friend of Nino which prepares with finally making the knowledge of the parents of its lover.
For the needs for film, Geraldine Pailhas, Catherine Deneuve and Emmanuelle Béart recorded songs which one hears in film.
